OPERATION HELLFISH: A SIMPSONS TRIBUTE(working title)Hi, I’m Troy McClure. You may know me from such compilations as Anything For You: A Tribute to Swans and Simpsons Christmas Boogie. So anyway, I came up with this idea last night and a few people expressed interest so FUCK it lets do it. Basically it’s a compilation of artists paying tribute to The Simpsons by covering some of the original songs from it. All for fun and in homage to the best animated tv show ever. The idea is simple: cover one of the original songs from The Simpsons, Send it to me, and it’ll be included on the compilation. How do I get involved? Contact me at zakglynn@outlook.com or message me on here with what song you’re covering, what style/genre, and preferably any material you have online or available to listen to.
What should I cover?Anything of the original songs from The Simpsons, such as Margerine, Flaming Moes, The Monorail song, Do the Bartman and Jazz Man, you get the idea. Take a look at the covers list below and make you’re not covering something that another artist has already covered, by the way! So yeah, I’d advise not to do carbon copies of the original songs. Be weird and creative!Songs are on a first come first serve basis, if someone gets dibs before you, unfortunately you will have to pick another song UNLESS you are willing to do a collaboration with that artist.
When do I have to have a cover finished by?The deadline is 7th of November. Don’t be put off by that however, if you want to get involved, but can’t meet that deadline, I can make a few exceptions. It’s pretty flexible, but try to treat the above as a proper deadline.
What do I do once I’ve finished? Send me a lossless file (.Wav/Flac ect) of your completed cover to the above email address (as an attachment or uploaded somewhere), then relax. How do you plan to release this? This will likely be online only on Bandcamp.com, however this is highly subject to change depending on the amount of interest this gets and a physical release may follow.I have no musical talent, can I still get involved?Yes. Contact me if you’re interested in some kind of artistic collaboration or whatever. I want to get as many people involved as possible.Below is the current list of possible and confirmed artists for this collar album as of 02/09/2014CONFIRMED:Dayruiner - MargerineClean Sheets - CanyoneroDeath of the Dead - Who Needs The Kwik-E Mart
Tom Connolly - Can I Borrow A Feeling?
Titfuck Bukkake - Politically IncorrectPossible:Ollie Hawker - Happy Birthday Lisa
Half Man Half Badger - The Union Strike Song (We have the power)
ONE MORE THING: Operation Hellfish is a working title. If you have any better suggestions, shoot them my way. The logo is also a placeholder so if any artists wish to give us a hand with this, that’d be amazing! Thanks! Also available on facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Operation-Hellfish-A-tribute-to-The-Simpsons/623127404474309
